Fugro Chance Exceeds Safety Goal
June 15, 2006
Offshore survey firm Fugro Chance Inc. recently exceeded its safety goal by reaching 1260 days with “no lost time accidents”.
According to Chance President Phil Stutes, “We consider our safety accomplishments remarkable, considering our current work environment and the number of miles our employees drive annually. Along with being good business, safety standards contribute to the health and happiness of our employees. The time frame of this accomplishment includes working through the aftermath of last summer’s hurricanes, Katrina and Rita, which heavily affected the Gulf of Mexico.”
The company has a stringent, in-house “Health, Safety and Environmental Management” program. Training for Chance surveyors include water survival, fire fighting, CPR, first aid, coast guard training, defensive driving, hazard identification, and man-overboard procedures. This system aligns Chance’s program with international safety standards.
Fugro Chance recently instilled a new mission statement: “To Provide Superior Surveying Solutions Safely”.
Fugro Chance Inc. is a member of the international Fugro group of companies which has 275 offices in more than 50 countries. As a global leader, Fugro offers advanced geotechnical surveying, seismic, oceanographic, and positioning services.
