Fugro Chance Accomplishes 5 Years No Lost Time Accidents

Offshore positioning leader Fugro Chance Inc. has recently reached a safety milestone. The survey company which works primarily in the offshore environment for the oil and gas industry, achieved no “lost time accidents” for five years.
Chance President Phil Stutes congratulated the 450 employees of Fugro Chance in Lafayette and Houston for this outstanding accomplishment of maintaining a safe and healthy work environment. “This kind of goal cannot be reached without very hard work by many individuals acting as a team,” he commented.
“Our employees are encouraged to review their work environment for safety hazards. Our philosophy is that accidents are preventable and this accomplishment is truly commendable,” Stutes added.
Jimmy Mizzi, Safety Manager of Fugro Chance pointed to the company’s stringent, in-house safety program that he directs. Training for Chance surveyors include water survival, fire fighting, CPR, first aid, coast guard training, defensive driving, and man-overboard procedures.
“No Chance employee has missed work due to a work-related incident or injury for five years,” Mizzi commented. “Our safety record is a reflection of our commitment to maintaining a safe environment in all areas of the business.”
